Megalomania (Last Minute Games) was my first professional foray into the world of Game Design- I was initially brought onto the project to develop quick illustrations for a single set of cards, but my involvement was later expanded to include the design and layout of cards, providing concept art for the game's box, and developing graphic assets for the project's Kickstarter campaign. The project was successfully funded in late 2015.

In Megalomania, you play as a Bond-esque villain plotting to take over the world. Successful gameplay is based around three decks: minions-for hire, buildings that generate your character money, and devious schemes that gain your character infamy. Although I provided a variety of illustrations for each of the decks, I also developed the look and feel for the scheme deck's layout.

The idea was based off of an old fashioned briefcase full of dossiers (the scheme being the documents inside). Once the player chooses a briefcase card and flips it over, the "documents" reveal which scheme they've acquired.

The designers allowed me to have plenty of creative freedom with card illustrations, which provided for numerous opportunities to add in visual gags. On one occasion, I was asked to illustrate a tense showdown between to Megalomaniacs. I asked if it could be a thumb war. The new direction was immediately approved.
